International Day of Happiness

When there is love, peace and harmony in the family, there is great joy and happiness in each family member.  Recognizing that it is important to consider well-being in addition to  "productivity" as a measure of progress, the small country of Bhutan, led by Jigme Singye Wangchuk, King of Bhutan in the 1970's, began developing the concept of GNH (gross national happiness).

"In 2011 the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution which recognized happiness as a "fundamental human goal" and called for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes happiness and well-being of all peoples"

At the inaugural UN conference on Happiness the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution which decreed that the International Day of Happiness would be observed every year on 20 March and it was celebrated for the first time in 2013.

Families come in many different forms and include our beloved pets

Here is our cat Razzie, helping me pack; she wants to come too :)

I invite you and your family to celebrate with us from 11-noon PDT today!

International Day of Happiness 2016

Missed it this year?  Every day can be a day of happiness! Chant for five or more minutes every day for whatever is near and dear to you.  Here is a simple song with a powerful message:

I love my heart and soul
I love all humanity
Join hearts and souls together
Love Peace and Harmony
Love Peace and Harmony

A gift for you; a gift to share:
